Requirements :

  • Adult Education and Training (AET/ ABET) Level 3 or equivalent Grade 10. Basic Life Support will be an added advantage. Knowledge/skills/competency: Knowledge and application of Batho Pele Principles and Six Priorities. Must be able to lift and move heavy objects. Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to communicate well with people at different levels, high–level reliability. Good customer skills and competence. Sound report writing skills. Ability to handle conflict. Ability to work independently and in a team. Ability to organize and plan. Sound verbal and written communication skills. Ability to act with tact and discretion. Must be self-motivated. Ability to work under pressure. Knowledge of regulations and the legislative framework related to Patient Affairs and the ability to interpret them. Must be prepared to work shifts, which include, weekends and public holidays and extended hours are compulsory, Applicant should be prepared to undergo Medical Surveillance as an inherent job requirement.

Duties :

  • Provide assistance to the supervisor in relation to the general courtesy officer functions. Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of equipment and environment in areas of responsibility and prepare for re-use to comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Managing queues into the hospital and waiting areas in a professional and friendly manner. Control and maintain order in waiting areas. Direct clients to follow appropriate line. Provide information to the clients in the queue. Welcome patients and visitors. Be able to give health talks to waiting patients. Provide clean cups for water. Check environment for broken equipment. Oversee/mend helpdesk and handle relevant queries and complaints. Performing of any other duties as delegated by supervisor. Maintaining the flow of patients and welcoming people on arrival.
