Requirements :

  • Minimum of Grade 10 or Equivalent qualification with no experience. A valid code 10 (C1) driver’s license with a valid Pr.D.P. (Professional Driving Permit). Ability to communicate at all levels (good communication skills). Customer, interaction skills, ability to work in a team as well as working alone. Knowledge of OHS Act. Ability to work under pressure must be prepared to work shifts including night shifts and public holidays. 3-5 years’ Experience in driving will be an added advantage. Experience in a hospital environment will be an added advantage. Preference will be given to Pretoria residents.

Duties :

  • Transporting of patients (P2, P3 and Mental Health), staff, medication and post utilizing the Hospital vehicles safely and professionally. Effective communication with dispatching regarding the schedule progress and receiving the instructions. Maintain professional image and attitude regarding patients, staff, and co-workers. Compile daily pre-trip, post trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness. Must be able to accurately complete log-sheets, must be able to operate the GPS device and cell phone where possible. Perform all duties assigned by the transport officer. Report when the accident occurred. Responsible for safekeeping of fuel card and inventory, including all other tools in the vehicle, taking care of the trip authority, log-sheet, vehicle tag, fuel card and vehicle keys always.
