Requirements :

  • Grade 12 certificate, bachelor’s degree in social work, Certificate of Registration with the South African Council for Social Services Professions, Proof of Current Registration with the Council as a Social worker, Driver’s license. Three (3) to five (5) years' experience.

Duties :

  • To render Health Care Social Work Services through the promotion of social change, problem solving in human relationships and the empowerment and liberation of people to enhance social well-being. Social Work Services are rendered to patients and their significant others in the following departments: in designated Psychiatric wards, Paediatrics, Maternity, Neonatal, Gynaecology, Medical Orthopaedics, HIV Clinic and their Outpatients Departments. Apply all methods of Social Work applicable in a hospital setting. Ensure Professional Record Keeping, Compilation of Statistics and Clinical Audits, and Social Work Student supervision. Compliance with Ideal Hospital Tool. Willingness to rotate in all Departments. Knowledge of relevant Acts and Policies to Social Work in Health
