Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) as a social Worker. Registration with the SACSSP (proof of current registration to be attached) Knowledge of the legislative framework for health social work, other public service legislation, policies and procedures pertaining to the Social Work profession and Gauteng Department of Health. Exposure to use of social work records (SW1-10). Applicants must be in a possession of a valid South African driver’s license. Knowledge of HIV -TB including Mental Health legislation and related legal and ethical practices, 3 years’ experience in working with children and families infected and affected by HIV and TB will be added as advantage. Knowledge of PFMA and Public Service Act and Regulations. Good verbal and written communication, interpersonal, financial, and human resource management skills; Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary context. Analytic thinking, independent decision making, and problem-solving skills.
Duties :

Within the Scope of Practice of Social Work: Be able to implement 4 primary methods of social work and core social work values. Render health care social work services with regards to care, treatment, rehabilitation and integration of vulnerable individuals, groups, families and communities. Provide integrated and specialised social work services within a multidisciplinary team of health and therapeutic professionals. Provide specialist HIV, TB training and mentoring to HTS Counsellors and mentors. Provide guidance to HTS Counsellors on child and youth friendly services relating to PLHIV including the Key Population. Monitoring and coordination of adherence support groups. Monitor, Assess, implement plans and critically evaluate HTS counsellor’s quality of counselling services and the outcome of HTS mentorship support. Provide training and mentoring services to counsellors and mentors. Be familiar with the provision and priorities of the WHO (World Health Organization) regarding 90 x90 x 90 strategies. Provide skills to the HTS Mentors about Victim Empowerment Services. Strengthening and facilitation of appropriate referrals on Psychosocial services to internal and external stake holders such as NGOs, advocacy groups and other government departments. Produce written professional reports, compile monthly reports and statistics. Ability to work under pressure. Have an understanding of NPO Act and PFMA. Coordinate and Monitor partner’s activities. Establish referral pathways at all levels of care and liaise with sub district, district stakeholders in the cluster. Monitoring and evaluation of services for quality of care, compliance to policies and guidelines and statutory legislations. Provide development, training, and clinical supervision of facility and community based HTS Counsellors and Mentors, undergraduate and post graduate students through appropriate task sharing and consultation. Support district level organizational activities and structures. Ensure collaboration and communication with other PHC staff, WBPHCOT, DSD, RTC, Health Programmes, MCWH programmes, and other Health outreach services (District Developmental Partners) to integrate HIV and TB Counselling services into HTS Counsellor’s and Mentors daily support service delivery objectives of coordinating Case Management support groups. Establish, maintain, and participate in the inter-sectoral and multi-disciplinary forum that promotes a seamless delivery of efficient and effective HIV and TB services. Utilize information technology and other management information systems to manage HIV and TB services for the enhancement of service delivery and writing of reports.
