Requirements :

• Appropriate qualification that allows registration with HPCSA as Dental Specialist in Prosthodontics. A minimum of 3 years’ appropriate experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Dental Specialist. Experience in the teaching and training of undergraduate and postgraduate students. A record of accomplishment in research activity. Supervision of postgraduate research projects to completion. Experience in Implantology and CAD/CAM technology. Annual review of the PG study guides following HPCSA requirements. Coordination of the PG diploma in CAD/CAM. CPD officer for the Department RECOMMENDATIONS: Been involved in setting and conducting postgraduate examinations and marking of research projects. Experience with budgeting and procurement are recommendations.

Duties :

• Oversee and co-ordinate the postgraduate fixed and removable prosthodontics course, including liaising with HOD and consultants in terms of procurement, drawing up seminar and case presentation schedules, arranging clinical supervision timetables, maintaining continuous assessment records and monthly feedback on PG students’ progress to HOD. Assisting in undergraduate fixed clinical sessions, and assisting with setting, marking and moderation of UG and PG test and exams. Be actively involved in own research as well as postgraduate research supervision. Participation on the postgraduate training platforms. Fulfil other departmental duties as deemed necessary by the HOD and assigned to them.
