A Basic R425 qualification (i.e., diploma/ degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse. Registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse, with proof of current registration 2024. A minimum of 7 years’ appropriate/ recognizable experience in nursing after registration with SANC as Professional Nurse. Certificate in Travel Health or Minimum of 2 years’ Experience in a Travel Clinic will be an added advantage. Ability to deal with the demands of the travelling community. Ability to work independently under pressure. Excellent customer care and Computer skills essential. Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Access, Power point). Knowledge of Batho Pele Principles and Patient, Right Charter. Additional Competencies: Evidence-based risk management of the Traveller both overseas and Local. Understanding of the principles of patient consent relating to vaccination, vaccine storage and the importance of the cold chain control and management. Administration of vaccination and dispensing of malaria prophylaxis under directions of the Yellow Fever licence holder. An awareness of complex problems and the need to seek advice from other resources and/or the medical adviser/licence holder. To demonstrate ability to integrate knowledge and skills acquired. Good organizing and planning skills. Demonstrate an in depth understanding of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices and how these impacts on Service delivery. Demonstrate a basic understanding of HR and financial policies. Demonstrate effective communication with the multidisciplinary team, supervisors, and other health professionals. Good reporting both verbal and written.
Duties :

To manage travel clinic team, offer travel health to international and local travellers. To coordinate all travel clinic functions, risk assessment for local and overseas traveller based on an up-to-date knowledge and geographical distribution of health risks and diseases outbreak, Use of relevant resources such as online databases and recording of specific advice and procedures on relevant patient administration system. Application of the international health regulation (2005) regarding the administration of Yellow Fever vaccination and certification and Malaria endemic areas requiring prophylaxis across the globe. To ensure that nursing is practiced safely and ethically. Keep abreast with Disease outbreaks globally. Good insight of the malaria elimination strategy and treatment guidelines. Work as part of the multi- disciplinary team on a supervisory level to ensure good nursing care by the nursing team. Work effectively and amicably at a supervisory level, with persons of diverse intellectual, cultural, racial, or religious differences. Able to manage own work, time and that of junior colleagues to ensure proper nursing service in the unit. Provide support and advice to subordinates. Control the provision of care through staff scheduling and supervision. Ensure that the environment complies with the Health and Safety Act and Infection and Prevention Control Policies. Facilitate continuous professional development for the subordinates.
