Requirements :

  • An NQF Level 6/7as recognised by SAQA in Law /BA Admin / Public Admin qualification. 2-3 years’ experience in the related environment (Liquor Unit). Code 08/10

Duties :

  • 1. Provide administrative and secretarial support • Receive Liquor license applications and advise on processes and procedures • Lodge applications • Analyse Liquor licence application and give advice • Monitor system for incoming applications as well as for rejected applications • Verify the correctness of all applications submitted as well as the attachments • Process applications for new licences renewals, and conduct periodic liquor law infringements • Prepare submissions and submitting inspections, infringements reports, work logs, expenses accounts and related forms 2. Provide administrative and secretarial support • Query Management • Refer enquiries to relevant Directorates • Communicate with stakeholder and provide support with liquor application processes and advise members of the public on liquor trading hours • Developing and supporting compliance and code of conduct, education, including liquor orientation, compliance training. • Facilitating monitoring and auditing activity for the various business lines in the region • Arrange meetings and workshops for liquor unit and schedule appointments with public • Compile minutes of the meeting for the unit and assist in preparing presentations • Follow-up on meetings resolutions for the unit and compile action list • Provide coordination and administration support on unit projects • Assist the unit and branch on any other tasks that might arise from time to time 3. Developing and maintaining Document Management system • Managing the contract management system specific contracting for the Regions. • Maintaining a database of all liquor license applications • Record keeping of license application documents both electronically and manually 4. Application Management • Analyse the applications and request outstanding documents from applicants • Follow up with clients • Populate information on the control sheet for the local committee • Liase with stakeholders (SAPS/ Elderly/Disabled/Municipality/SARS/Home Affairs/Liquor Traders/ • Tracking of files • Prepare document for quality assure with control sheet by manager • Write comments on the control sheet • Advice applicants to withdraw application before it can undergo local committee 5. Manage staff • Define employee needs of the function • Leave Management • Performance management, reward and discipline employees
