Requirements :

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy recognized by the South African Pharmacy Council. Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council as a Pharmacist. Excellent communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Team builder and computer literate. Sound knowledge of legislation applicable to pharmacy practice. Human Resource Management and staff relation legislation. Appropriate clinical and theoretical knowledge

Duties :

  • Provision of Pharmaceutical services to patients through dispensing of medicines to inpatients and outpatients. Ensure the adherence and monitoring of EML/STG. SOP’s, GPP, GCP, PFMA and work procedures. Evaluating and monitoring of Drug Supply Management. Training and supervising Pharmacist Interns, Pharmacist Assistants, and any other personnel in the unit. Registration as tutor. Supervise, co-ordinate and manage all activities of the department. Plan and co-ordinate all administrative functions of the department. Gather and analyze relevant statistical data for forward planning. Participate in the budgetary process. Produce relevant reports. Supply relevant information to medical, nursing staff and patients. Monitor and evaluate quality of service. Participate in-service training. Perform any legitimate task within the scope of practice requested by the supervisor or manager that is necessary for the provision of a quality pharmaceutical service. Perform after hours and on-call duties.
