Requirements :

  • Minimum educational qualification: National Diploma/Degree in Diagnostic Radiography. Proof of current registration with HPCSA as an independent diagnostic radiographer for 2023/2024. Must have completed community service as per statutory requirement. Physically able to perform all the duties required. Ability to work independently and in a team. Basic knowledge of equipment use and trouble shooting. Knowledge of provisioning protocols and stock control. Sound report writing & administrative skills and computer literacy. Knowledge of relevant Health and Safety Acts and Infection Control measures. Punctuality, reliability, efficiency, competency, and accountability in service provision. Adherence to Public Service Regulations and line function procedures. Written and verbal communication skills. Honesty, integrity, and high work ethic. Good interpersonal skills. Knowledge of public service legislation, policies, procedures and the Batho Pele principles. Knowledge of current GDoH guidelines and policies governing the Health Sector and Radiography Profession. Comprehensive knowledge of radiation protection, patient and equipment safety. Quality Control and record keeping processes.

Duties :

  • Participate in providing a 24-hour Radiographic Service, rotating between different area in the department including General, Mobile, theatre radiography, CT Scanner, Quality Assurance and assisting in student training. Producing high quality radiographic images. Assist in co-ordinating and organizing daily workload and adherence to the monthly roaster/allocation. Render a professional service to patients. General care and safety of patients. Participate in CPD training programmes. Promote teamwork, co-operative work relationship amongst staff members and other health Care workers.

Only shortlisted candidates will be required/requested to submit certified copies of qualifications, service certificate, other relevant documents on or before the interview and candidates in possession of a foreign qualification will be required to furnish the Department with an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). Personnel Suitability Checks (PSC) –Verification (Reference checks- Provide at least 3 off which one must be immediate supervisor, the Department shall reserve the right to conduct verification beyond names provided, where necessary.
