Senior/National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) certificate. National Diploma, Degree in Diagnostic Radiography or appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South African HPCSA as a Diagnostic Radiographer. Proof of registration with HPCSA as an independent diagnostic Radiographer, Proof of current registration with the HPCSA from 01 April 2026 to 31 March 2027 and proof of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) compliance. Current registration with the PCSA for 2026-2027. Computer literacy is essential, time management skills, good interpersonal skills, teamwork, written and verbal communication skills and report writing. Honesty, integrity, and good ethical conduct. Knowledge of Public Service legislation, policies and procedures. Knowledge of current DOH guidelines and policies governing the health sector and Radiography profession. Sound knowledge of Diagnostic procedures and equipment. Sound knowledge of radiation control regulations, safety measures and policies. Sound knowledge of Diagnostic Radiography practice and ethos. Ability to work under stressful conditions and maintain meaningful relationships with all stakeholders. Grade 1: No experience required after registration with HPCSA in the relevant profession in respect of RSA qualified employees who performed community service, as required in South Africa. Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years of appropriate recognizable experience after registration with HPCSA in the relevant profession in respect of RSA qualified employees who perform community service, as required in South Africa. Grade 3: A Minimum of 20 years of recognizable experience after registration as a Radiographer with HPCSA in the relevant profession in respect of RSA qualified employees who perform community service, as required in South Africa.
Duties :

Provide diagnostic Radiography services in a 24-hour department. To produce X-ray images according to prescribed protocols, radiation control measures and medico-legal requirements. Apply and maintain radiation protection, ensuring compliance with Infection Control and Prevention and uphold high level of patient care. Inspect and utilize radiographic equipment professionally to ensure they comply with safety standards. Communicate with external and internal professionals to ensure patient safety and fair treatment. Promote good health practices and ensure optimal care patients. Assist in the training of Community Service Radiographers, and students. Assist in the quality assurance processes. Supervise and participate in departmental quality assurance tests. To adhere to Batho Pele principles, National core standards, Quality Assurance, Quality Improvement Programs, in-service training, Ideal Hospital Maintenance Framework and other Public Service Policies and Acts. Perform administrative duties including compiling statistics and performing any other duties as delegated by the Supervisor.
