Requirements :

  • MBChB degree or equivalent medical qualification that allows registration with HPCSA as an Independent Medical Practitioner. Current registration as independent medical practitioner with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). Surgical rotation experience under consultant supervision during community service or post-community service, with laparoscopic experience or voluntary work in surgery will be added advantage. Certification in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are advantageous.

Duties :

  • Provide comprehensive care for surgical patients under the supervision of senior consultants. Engage in the supervision and teaching of medical students, interns, and nursing staff. Participate in commuted overtime as required. Collaborate with the surgical team in various procedures, contributing to patient care plans. Undertake the MMed degree registration with the university as part of your career development.
