Requirements :

  • Minimum ABET Level 4, Grade 10, or Grade 12 certificate. Ability to read and write. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Physically fit and capable of performing strenuous cleaning duties. Willingness to rotate across wards and departments as required. Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays. Honest, reliable, and responsible with a strong work ethic. Ability to handle cleaning chemicals and equipment safely. Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices will be an added advantage.

Duties :

  • Clean and maintain floors, walls, windows, doors, furniture, lockers, beds, curtains, blinds, and all designated surfaces within wards and departments. Clean and maintain external areas, including corridors and entrances, ensuring removal of litter and waste at all times. Remove and dispose of waste in accordance with hospital waste management policies and infection prevention and control standards. Clean staff and MHCU (patient) kitchen areas, refrigerators, microwave ovens, and other designated equipment. Wash dishes, cups, and utensils in wards and designated areas. Safely use, store, and maintain cleaning chemicals, materials, and equipment in accordance with safety standards. Ensure immediate cleaning of spills to prevent accidents and maintain a safe environment. Replenish consumables daily, including soap, toilet paper, deodoriser blocks, and air fresheners. Complete and sign all required documentation daily, including cleanliness checklists, attendance registers, and delegation registers. Report maintenance defects, hazards, and shortages to the supervisor or unit manager without delay. Inform the supervisor or unit manager when leaving or returning to assigned areas during working hours. Maintain a clean, hygienic, and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff in line with infection prevention and occupational health and safety standards. Perform any other duties as reasonably delegated by the supervisor within the scope of the post.
