Grade 12 with Degree/ Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse and Midwife. A minimum of 7 years appropriate experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with SANC in general Nursing and Midwifery, and 3 years as Sexual Offence Care Practitioner. Experience in managerial position, working in Clinical Forensic Medical Services/Thuthuzela Care Centre, post basic nursing qualification in Nursing Management will be an added advantage . Basic understanding of relevant legislation that governs Clinical Forensic Medicine, valid driver’s license and ability to drive, computer literate, report writing skills, good communication skills, ability to work under pressure, good supervisory skills and interpersonal skills are essential. Evidence of registration with professional regulatory body.
Duties :

Coordinate the provision of optimal, holistic and specialised nursing care to survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) within established standards and the applicable professional and legal framework. Demonstrate knowledge of the management of suspects of crime in accordance with relevant clinical, professional and legal requirements. Ensure good clinical practice in the prevention of injuries and non-natural deaths, thereby promoting quality of care in accordance with prescribed quality standards and the scope of practice of relevant professional bodies. Promote collaboration and effective engagement with relevant stakeholders. Provide effective support to Clinical Forensic Medical Services (CFMS) facilities at sub-district level. Coordinate, support, monitor and evaluate programme-related activities, including awareness campaigns, training and research. Perform relief duties of the Assistant Manager and participate in the overall functions of the specialised unit, including meetings, team-building activities and staff debriefing. Maintain professional growth and ethical standards and promote self-development and the professional development of staff members. Compile and submit weekly and monthly programme reports.
