Requirements :

  • Abet level 4 or equivalent qualification / Grade 10 / NQF Level 3 or equivalent qualification with 3 years laundry Worker experience. Grade 12 certificate will be an added advantage Skills/Knowledge/Competence: Must have numeric skills and must be Computer literate, Basic understanding of Policies (Batho Pele Principles, Patients Right Charter, Occupational Health and Safety, Six Priorities and National Core Standards). Ability to work under pressure, Leadership, decision making, problem solving, management and good people skills. Must be able to operate independently. Must have be able to adhere to timeframes. Must have a high level of reliability. Must have the ability to discipline staff: Must be able to plan, lead, organize, supervise, inspect and evaluate the work of subordinates, work scheduling. Disciplinary code and procedure, report writing and ability to lead a big team. Comply with HR prescripts and national core standards safety. Adhere to occupational health and safety regulations as well as infection prevention and control principles. Have ability to liase with stake holders. Be prepared to work under pressure and be able to work in a team. Be prepared to rotate. Must have good leave/absence record. Be prepared to do physical labour. It is a legal requirement that employees wear protective clothing. Willing to work shifts.

Duties :

  • Provide customer care. Plan and organize work and ensure adequate provision of linen. Supervise laundry workers. Monitor arrival and departure of trucks. Controlling and observing proper counting of clean / soiled linen. Attending of client meetings. Perform the required duties, appropriate laundry procedure is being rendered, provide statistics and report, quality control measures and continually maintained. Perform any other duties as delegated. Ensure occupational health and safety is observed. Marking/controlling of attendance register. Arrange leave for staff. Safe keeping of documents. Administratrative duties, attending of client meetings. Implement Performance Management and Development of staff (PMDS). Apply disciplinary measures when necessary. Apply prescribed safety and precautionary measures, perform any other duties as delegated.
