Requirements :

An (NQF 6) / Degree (NQF 7) qualification in Risk Management/Auditing or equivalent as recognised by SAQA. Ethics Officer Professional Registration with EthicsSA A minimum of 3 years’ experience in risk management environment, of which 2 years should be at supervisory level. A Valid Driver’s Licence.
COMPETENCIES: Public Service Act and Regulations and relevant legislation. Knowledge of anti-corruption initiatives and Professional Ethics Infrastructure. Knowledge of ethics auditing and ethics legal frameworks Skills- Computer literacy, problem solving and analysis, planning and organizing, report writing, communication. ATTRIBUTES- Able to work under pressure. Able to work independently Professionalism. Flexibility. Problem Solving. Initiative. Decision making.
Duties :
-
Assist with the development and implementation of ethics plans and strategies. Conduct research on the Professional Ethics infrastructure in the Public Service. Conduct research on Anti-Corruption initiatives. Assist with the implementation of the Ethics Management Strategy. Facilitate the implementation of the Public Service Integrity Management Framework. Establish and maintain an effective management information system including an ethics query register. Identify and report unethical behaviour and corrupt activities. Conduct Ethics Risk Assessments. Establish an Ethics Committee. Manage conflicts of interest, including financial disclosures of employees, application for external remunerative work and departmental gift registers. Promote ethics and integrity in the department. Arrange financial disclosure training for OSD, middle management and financial services. Advise employees on ethical matters. Manage human resources in the unit and maintain discipline. Manage training and development of personnel according to agreed training interventions. Plan and allocate work responsibilities and processes to control work performance including quality assurance.
