Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Clinical Psychologist and proof of current registration. Grade 1: (No experience required after registration with HPCSA as a Psychologist in respect of RSA qualified employees who performed community service in the relevant profession as required in South Africa). Grade 2: Appropriate qualification that allows for registration with the relevant council/ HPCSA and a minimum of 8 years’ appropriate experience. Grade 3: Appropriate qualification that allows for registration with the HPCSA. A minimum of 12 years’ appropriate experience. Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit current proof of registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as Psychologist in any of the identified registration categories. Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit a valid work permit for Non-South African Citizens. Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation and policies. Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary context. Analytic thinking, independent decision making and problem-solving skills. Relevant experience and courses in the EAP field may be an added advantage.
Duties :

Provide effective and efficient psychological assessments and treatments to patients of all age groups who are dealing with psychological challenges, including developmental difficulties, psychological distress and/or psychopathology. Ensure that quality mental health services are provided according to professional standards and ethical principles. Applying evidence based psychological interventions to clients presenting with psychological and /or psychiatric conditions or problems. Conduct mental health promotion and prevention activities. Work within a multidisciplinary team. Appropriate referral to other professionals when indicated. Designing, managing and evaluating programmes aimed at alleviating psychological distress or psychiatric conditions. Adhering to the scope of practice of Clinical Psychologists as stipulated by the Health Professions Act and the HPCSA rules of conduct.
