A Diploma/ Degree in Public Management with a minimum of three years appropriate experience in patient affairs or Grade 12 with an appropriate ten year's relevant experience in patient affairs, including Records Management. Knowledge of clerical duties, practices as well as the ability to capture data, operate computer and collecting statistics. Knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework governing the Public
Service. Knowledge of working procedures in terms of the working environment. Understanding the work in patient affairs. Computer certificate is essential. The incumbent should be prepared to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
Duties :

Coordinate and manage all activities in the unit pertaining to patient administration. Supervise and train staff in admission department. Manage PMDS in the unit by contracting, midyear and final reviews. Monitor attendance of subordinates and leave management in the department. Implement measures to ensure compliance to applicable PFMA, prescripts, policies and procedures. Manage and attend to all queries pertaining to patient files and complains. Compile and submit monthly reports. Ensure that HIS system is always functional, and report system unavailability to relevant departments(downtime). Apply disciplinary measures when necessary and attend to grievance. Attend to all audit queries and findings. Conduct random spot checks. Develop and implement actions in line with patient administration policies to ensure that patients are properly classified as per administrative procedure manual and UPFS.

Only shortlisted candidates will be required/requested to submit certified copies of qualifications, service certificate and other relevant documents on or before the interview. Candidates in possession of a foreign qualification will be required to furnish the Department with an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). HR will conduct Personnel Suitability Checks (PSC) and Verification Checks. The Department reserve the right to conduct verification beyond information provided, where necessary. Failure to submit all the relevant information mentioned above with the exception of HR verification checks, will result in the candidate being disqualify.
