Senior/National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) and Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery plus MMed (O&G) or FCOG (SA. Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Current registration with the HPCSA. Medical Specialist Grade 1 no experience after registration with (HPCSA), Medical Specialist Grade 2- A minimum of 05 years experience after registration with (HPCSA) , Medical Specialist Grade 3- A minimum of 10 years after registration with (HPCSA) in a normal Speciality. Significate experience and interest in Maternal and Fetal medicine and the certificate in Maternal and Fetal medicine (CMSA) with HPCSA registration as a sub-specialist will be an added advantage. The candidate should be able to demonstrate teaching experience and research success, preferably including publications. Experince in teaching and learning , supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Duties :

Render, organize and oversee inpatient and outpatient services in general obstetrics, high-risk pregnancies, obstetric medicine and fetal medicine. Coordinate and render comprehensive assessment, management and referral of women with high-risk pregnancies. Lead the development, implementation and monitoring of protocols, SOPs, audits, compliance standards, training and outreach to the cluster. Ensure adherence to policies and protocols, promote quality improvement and optimise the use of resources. This is an academic position with significant undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, training and research responsibilities. Engagement in departmental academic activities, supervision and curriculum development will be expected. Commuted overtime is compulsory.
