Requirements :

  • Grade 12/National Senior Certificate. Basic R425 qualification, diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse. A Minimum of 7 (Seven) years of appropriate recognizable experience in Nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. Proof of current registration with SANC. Experience in DS-TB, DR-TB, TB / HIV programme will be an added advantage. Computer literacy is mandatory. Ability to work under pressure and independently. Candidate will be required to work shifts.

Duties :

  • • Monitor and support implementation of the TB Programme in the Hospital. Promote HAST strategic plan in the line with TB and HIV strategies. Facilitate and support implementation of the National TB Control Guidelines, Policies and TB recovery plan in the Hospital. Plan and organise monthly meetings for TB focal point and conduct TB/HIV in-service training in the Hospital. Ensure good working relationship with all programmes in the hospital and the district for effective management of the TB Programme Support. Ensure effective referral system for TB programme. Ensure integrated Health information System for TB on TIER.Net. DHIS and EDR Web. Coordinate monthly and quarterly DS-TB and DR-TB reports for submission to the district, verify and analyse data prior submission and adhere to report submission timelines.

Candidates in possession of a foreign qualification will be required to furnish the Department with an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). HR will conduct Personnel Suitability Checks (PSC) and Verification Checks. The Department reserves the right to conduct verification beyond information provided, where necessary. Failure to submit all the relevant information mentioned above with the exception of HR verification checks will result in the candidate being disqualified.
