Requirements :

Basic Qualification in Diploma/Degree in Nursing in terms of R425 or equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse. Grade 1: One must have completed community service, registered and have proof of the current registration with the SANC. Grade 2: A minimum of 5-year appropriate experience as Professional Nurse with SANC is required. Grade 3: A minimum of 10-years appropriate experience as Professional Nurse after registration with the SANC is required. Proof of current registration with the South African Nursing Council as Registered Nurse. Good communication skills, basic writing skills, ability and good interpersonal skills. Knowledge of nursing care processes and procedures, Quality assurance, patient’s experience of care, patients’ safety, infection control and other relevant legal frame works e.g. Ideal Hospital Realization. Good ethical practice and caring attitude.
Duties :

Implement comprehensive nursing care plan/program for promotion of health; self-care; treatment and rehabilitation of patients according to Scope of Practice of Registered Nurses. Provide effective supervision and leadership for staff in the area in line with all relevant prescripts. Maintain a therapeutic environment and relationship in which care can be provided optimally and safely. Create and maintain a complete and accurate nursing record for individual users. Audit clinical records and analyze data. Implement standards; practices; criteria and indicators for quality nursing. Assist in the development of nursing and improvement of standards of care through research. Create an environment and learning opportunities that foster professional growth and improvement in nursing and health care. Actively engage in the education and training of staff and students in the health care. Maintain professional and ethical practice. Maintain a constructive working relationship with nursing and other stakeholders. Utilize human; material and financial resources efficiently and effectively. Be able to work shifts; weekends, holidays and night shift.
