Senior Certificate (Grade 12) . Occupational Therapy Technician Certificate / or equivalent qualification as an Occupational Therapy Technician. Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Occupational Therapy Technician. Knowledge of community-based rehabilitation and Primary health care services .Valid driver’s licence is essential Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team Problem solving skills and innovation skills
Duties :
-
Render effective patient cantered Occupational Therapy services in a clinic and community settings In adherence to the scope of practice and health protocols . Do outreach to the surrounding clinics around the area of responsibility ( base team) Conduct home visits where required . Plan and conduct group exercise class and task Centered groups . Demonstrate the ability to conduct and participate in health promotion ,prevention, curative and disability awareness . Issue assistive devices ( as per Occupational Therapy needs identified 0 Submit detailed daily and monthly reports and stats using available departmental tool with set timelines. Do outreach to the surrounding NGOs and screenings for ECI ( Early Childhood intervention ) Work closely with multidisciplinary team members carry out delegated duties by supervisor or manager . Participate in continuous professional development activities. Establish support groups and run projects as identified with multidisciplinary team members participate in research projects in the district Attend and participate in Occupational Therapy monthly meetings.
