Requirements :

  • Grade 12. Degree in Occupational Therapy. Registration with the Health Professional Council (HPCSA) as an independent Occupational Therapy practitioner, and proof of current registration.

Duties :

  • Will be responsible to manage all Occupational Therapy services related to Longer stay Mental Health Care Users including treatment, recordkeeping, effective quality service delivery, Human resource management of Occupational therapists and OTT/OTAs, financial and stock management, quality improvement, maintain and develop treatment projects, risk management, training and development of the OT staff. Clinical duties will include executing the Occupational therapy process with your clinical case load in an MDT setting by following the prescribed Occupational Therapy processes including assessment/s, compiling a problem list, treatment planning and executing the planned treatment (individual and group sessions). Administrative duties related to record keeping tasks according to the standards set by Quality assurance principles. Participate and supervise allocated students per annual program. Actively facilitate program planning within the Unit. Execute planned group sessions as planned. Participate in the annual de-institutionalization program. Follow the PMDS program and supervision of assigned OT staff members.
