Requirements :

  • Grade 12 plus five years’ experience in a Food Service Unit (Hospital Environment) will be an added advantage. A Certificate in Hospitality Services / Catering will be an added advantage. Candidate will be working shifts, weekends and public holidays. Food preparation skills, organizing skills, problem solving skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, applicant should understand Batho Pele principles in relation to Food Service numeracy & literacy skills, leadership skills, computer skills

Duties :

  • Process statistics and keep records as well as order, receipt, storage and issue all food provisions and stock in the Food Service Unit. Supervise food preparation and production of all normal and therapeutic diets. Supervise the weighing, dishing up, Superviser hygiene and safety, use and maintenance of equipment. Ensure adherence to prescripts, elementary control measures and standard operational procedures. Supervise human resources, financial and do stock control.

Candidates in possession of a foreign qualification will be required to furnish the Department with an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). HR will conduct Personnel Suitability Checks (PSC) and Verification Checks. The Department reserves the right to conduct verification beyond information provided, where necessary. Failure to submit all the relevant information mentioned above with the exception of HR verification checks will result in the candidate being disqualified.
