Grade 12 basic R425, R171, R174 qualifications (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or an equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as a professional nurse must available. Candidate are expected to have the recognizable applicable experience as determined by the OSD in the terms of different grades. Know nursing care process and procedures, nursing statutes and other applicable legislations. The candidate must have good communication skills, both verbal and written and able to work in a team. Candidate must have good ethical practice and caring attitude. Manage workplace discipline and have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the ideal hospital component, Batho Pele principles, ministerial priorities and patient’s rights. Candidates will be required to do rotations and work shifts.
Duties :

Demonstrate an in depth understanding of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practice in accordance with nursing standards as determined by the Health Facility. Promote quality of nursing care as directed by the professional Scope of the practice and standards. Demonstrate effective communication with patients, supervisors and other Clinicals, including report writing when required. Work as part of Multidisciplinary team to ensure good nursing care. Work effectively, co-operatively and amicable with people of diverse intellectual, cultural, racial or religious differences. Be able to plan and organize own work and support other personnel to ensure quality nursing care. Display caring attitude towards patients, promoting and advocating proper treatment and care including awareness and willingness to respond patient’s needs, requirements and expectations. Be supportive to the manager to achieve the goals of the unit and of the hospital.

Candidates in possession of a foreign qualification will be required to furnish the Department with an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). HR will conduct Personnel Suitability Checks (PSC) and Verification Checks. The Department reserves the right to conduct verification beyond information provided, where necessary. Failure to submit all the relevant information mentioned above with the exception of HR verification checks will result in the candidate being disqualified.
