Requirements :

• Grade 12. Basic qualification accredited with the South African Nursing Council in terms of Government Notice 425, i.e. diploma\ degree in Nursing as Professional Nurse, plus a post basic nursing qualification in Occupational Health and Safety. Degree\diploma in Nursing Management or equivalent qualification, registered with the South African Nursing Council. A minimum of 10 years appropriate \ recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional nurse with the South African Nursing Council in General Nursing. At least 6 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate\ recognizable experience after obtaining the 1 year post basic qualification in Post Graduation Degree / diploma in Occupational Health and Safety. At least 3 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate / recognizable experience at management level/Operational Manager/Program coordinator at a Public Institution. South African Nursing Council annual practising certificate. Computer literacy. Valid driver’s license. Service certificates. Strong leadership, good communication and sound interpersonal skills are necessary. Skilled in OHS & EHS Management Systems, Risk Assessment, Incident Investigation, Regulatory Compliance, Emergency Response Planning, Training and Development, Inspection and Auditing.

Duties :

• Coordination of optimal, holistic specialized nursing care provided within set standards and a professional \legal framework. Manage effectively the utilization and supervision of Human, Financial and service resources. Coordination of the provision of effective training and research. Provision of effective support to Nursing Services. Maintain Professional growth\ethical standards and development of self and subordinates. Assist in developing and implementing Environmental Health and Safety policies and procedures. Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety regulations. Collaborate with various departments to identify and mitigate risks. Provide training and guidance to staff on Environmental Health and Safety protocols and best practices. Manage incident reporting, investigation, and follow-up actions. Maintain accurate records and prepare detailed reports on performance. Support the development of emergency response plans and conduct drills.
