Requirements :

• Grade 12 and MBChB degree. A valid registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Internal Medicine. Candidate must have obtained a FCA (SA) qualification or equivalent. Proof of current registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist from 01 April 2026 to 31 March 2027. Medical Specialist Grade 1: No experience after registration with HPCSA, Medical Specialist Grade 2 - A minimum of five (5) years’ experience after registration with HPCSA and Medical Specialist Grade 3 - A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience after registration with HPCSA in a normal Specialty.

Duties :

• The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of quality and cost-effective Internal Medicine clinical services at Kalafong Provincial Tertiary Hospital. Provide full time clinical services including after hours (Weekday, Weekends and Public holidays). Manage and work in medical outpatients on days allocated for the clinical group assigned to. Manage and work in specialist clinic as allocated. Review discharge summaries of all discharged from clinical service group. Perform administrative tasks related to student training and development within the clinical service group. Perform administrative tasks related to patient management and address complaints that may occur within the clinical service group. Ensure that patients and doctors in clinical service group use and upload to the electronic databases for research purposes. The successful candidate will be responsible for training of undergraduate and post-graduate students. Develop own research interest and publish appropriately. Support and supervise postgraduate students with research projects. Assist with duty lists and staff allocation in the department. Participation in the Internal Medicine academic program in the University of Pretoria. Ensure proper and accurate record keeping as legally and ethically required. Reporting to the hospital Medical Manager on service delivery, clinical audits and where necessary quality improvement plans.
