Appropriate qualification that allows for registration with HPCSA as a Medical Officer. No experience required after registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner. Grade II Appropriate qualification that allows for registration with the HPCSA as Medical Officer. Registration with the HPCSA as Medical Officer. A minimum of 5 years’ appropriate experience as Medical Officer after registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner. Grade III Appropriate qualification that allows for registration with the HPCSA as Medical Officer. Registration with the HPCSA as Medical Officer. A minimum of 10 years’ appropriate experience as Medical Officer after registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner. Ability to communicate well with people at different levels. Ability to organize and plan. Knowledge of Batho Pele Principle. Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to work independently in a team. Applicant should be prepared to undergo medical surveillance.
Duties :

The incumbent will be responsible to interview, investigate, diagnose, manage, and oversee the treatment of patients, participate in the administrative duties, participating in all activities of the discipline in relation to teaching and research. Supervising junior doctors (undergraduate students, interns and community service doctors). Improve quality of care by providing clinical care that is guided by guidelines and latest evidence with good record keeping. Participate in referral meetings and down refer stable patients. Participating in departmental audit activities, preparing, and writing of reports, liaison and communication and community liaison. (Willing to do commuted overtime) Rendering of after-hour (night, weekend, and public holiday) duties to provide continuous uninterrupted care of patients.. Attendance of relevant administrative meetings, complete Legal documents timeously (e.g., Death certificate). Improve quality of care by providing appropriate clinical care. Reduce medical litigation risks by exercising good clinical ethos. Implement and monitor adherence to National Core Standards. Participate in multidisciplinary team to the management of patients. Participation in departmental meetings, journal clubs, case presentations, lectures, and ward rounds. Ensure that administration and record keeping is done in the department. Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). Perform other duties as allocated by the supervisor. Be willing to undergo continuous training and development programs. Attend meetings and training as approved by supervisor. Comply with the Performance Management and Development System (Contracting, reviews and final assessment).
