Requirements :

  • A Degree or National Diploma in Oral Hygiene, with Expanded functions. Registered at the Health Professionals Council of South Africa. A valid Driver’s License is compulsory. OTHER SKILLS: Good communication skills both verbal and written. Maintain confidentiality, loyalty and be a team player. Problem solving skills, creativity, good interpersonal and analytical skills.

Duties :

  • Assess the need of community-based Oral Health Services. Ensures the implementation of Oral Health strategic policy. Formulating, implementing and maintaining Oral Health Promotion and Specific Protection Programmes at Primary Schools and Early Development Centers. Implement Oral Health programmes at special needs and Physically and mentally challenged institutions, Mother and child programme and provide reports on service delivery. Responsible for development and training of other health professionals/ non-Oral Health staff in the district. Attend to all clinical procedures according to scope of practice including expanded functions. Render outreach programmes using portable mobile units in the community. Facilitate campaigns and exhibitions. Participate and assist in research projects and surveys.
