Requirements :

  • Grade 12, Basic Diploma/Degree accredited with SANC in terms of R425 that allows with registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse, plus a post-basic nursing qualification with duration of 1 year accredited with the SANC in terms of Government Notice No. R212 in the relevant speciality Operating Theatre Nursing Science. A minimum of 4 or14 years appropriate/recognise able experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing At least 10 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/ recognisable experience in the specific speciality after obtaining the 1-year post-basic qualification in the relevant specialty.

Duties :

  • Demonstrate an understanding of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices. Perform clinical nursing practice in accordance with the scope of practice and nursing standards. Promote quality of nursing care directed by the professional scope of practice and standards. Demonstrate effective communication with supervisors and other clinicians including report writing. Work as part of the multidisciplinary teams (must be prepared to work overtime, shifts including nights/day, weekends and public holidays). Able to plan and organise own work and that of support personnel. Display concern of patients needs, requirements and expectation. Work effectively, co-operatively, amicably with persons of diverse social backgrounds. Participate in the analysis, formulation of Nursing guidelines, norms and guidelines. Ensure implementation and promotion of Qualiti Assurance programmes (complains and patients safety Management), Infection, Prevention & control and health and safety Principles. Promote Quality of nursing care as directed by Ideal Hospital Realisation & Maintenance framework and Office of Health Standard Compliance. Participate in the Hospital operational plans.
