Requirements :

  • Grade 12 plus (Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) /National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Agricultural Economics/Economics/Business Economics/ Community Development/Development Studies as recognised by SAQA. 2-3 years of experience at a supervisory level. Valid driver’s license. Competencies: Knowledge and understanding of Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG) and Public service regulations, Public Service Regulations (PSR), Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Professional Service Provider (PSP), Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE)/AgriBEE, Policy development and corporate governance, Project management, Departmental strategic plan and priorities, Department’ organization structure and functionality, Political mandate strategic priorities, Planning and organizing, Leadership, Financial Management, Innovation and Problem solving. Report writing, Excellent written and verbal communication skills, Presentation and facilitation skills, Computer literacy, Networking, Stakeholder relationship management and formation of strategic partnerships.

Duties :

  • Coordinate and administer the activities of rural enterprise and industry development through Enterprise and Supplier Development Programme as well as Skills Development as elements of B-BBEE Act as amended, implementation of B-BBEE and AgriBEE services, projects and programmes. Implement requirements for change management interventions and programmes. Implement requirements for business efficiency interventions and programme. Interact with relevant internal and external stakeholders. Participate in planning processes i.e. strategy development, business planning, etc. to reach the strategic objectives of the Directorate. Facilitate community dialogue workshops with relevant stakeholders and establish relationships with local stakeholders. Provide community with opportunities for exposure to valuable knowledge and skills required by local businesses. : To coordinate and administer the activities of rural development and transformation programmes in the Gauteng province in partnership with community stakeholders, municipalities, provincial departments and agencies to meet the needs of rural communities, communal or traditional communities and Township, Informal Settlements and Hostels (TISH) areas. Identify rural communities in line with Integrated Rural Development Sector Strategy. Compile community profiles. Facilitate community dialogue workshops with rural stakeholders. Engage with key stakeholders at formal forums / conferences etc. Assist in ensuring operational planning and scheduling of resource use is properly carried out. Assist in developing, profiling, monitoring and evaluation of all CRDP Projects. Work directly with communities, local government and key stakeholders to identify sustainable livelihood initiatives. Collate information on identified initiatives. Develop database for projects. Ensure proper filing is done for Community Development Forums (CDF) initiatives.
