Grade12. National Diploma in Public Admin/Public Management or relevant Admin qualification. 5 years Patient administration experience or delegated supervisory experience as an added advantage. Computer literate. Good interpersonal relations, honest and reliable and able to uphold high ethical conduct. Be able to work independently and under pressure. Must be prepared to relieve in and rotate to other sections of patient administration. Knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework governing the Public service. SAP system knowledge and hospital experience will be an added advantage. Understanding of patient administration with specific reference to both outpatients, inpatient management and Accident and Emergency unit. Good report writing skills and ability to make decisions. Ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary team. Work optimally as part of a dynamic team.
Duties :
-
Provide general supervision and management of all staff activities related to patient administration. Manage the patient administration section in accordance with relevant Acts, prescripts, policies and procedures. Oversee and monitor the accurate recording, capturing, and maintenance of patient data. Plan, coordinate, and provide effective administration support for all operational functions within the department. Supervise sub-cashiers and admission clerks, ensuring timely execution of duties. Maintain proper file management. Supervise, train, and develop staff to enhance performance and service delivery. Prepare and submit daily and monthly reports to management. Handle grievances and conflicts within the department and apply progressive disciplinary measures when necessary. Monitor and manage patient waiting times in compliance with ideal clinic and National core standards. Oversee stock management, including ordering and monitoring the availability of stationery. Perform any other delegated duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
