Requirements :

• Grade 12 certificate, Bachelor of Dental Therapy, certificate of registration with Health Professions Council (HPCSA) as a Dental Therapist. Proof of current registration with the HPCSA and copy of an ID document. Valid driver's licence Code EB or C1. All documents to be certified and not older than six months. 1–2 years’ experience in a public health facility will be an advantage. Skills: Good communication and interpersonal skills, Willingness to work in outreach and primary oral health care programs. Ability to work under pressure and problem-solving skills.

Duties :

• Rendering of oral health services within the scope of Dental Therapy qualification. Working in the clinics, dental mobile, correctional services, institutions, hospitals, partake in community outreach programmes and performing administrative duties as required by the Programme/Department. Ensure proper running of quality oral health services and management of the staff in the clinic. Provision of relief within the Sub-district and District when needed. Sound knowledge of Departmental Policies would be an advantage. Provide preventive, promotive, and curative oral health services. Conduct school and community oral health education. Perform dental therapy procedures (restorations, extractions, scaling and polishing, etc.). Maintain infection control and patient safety standards. Keep accurate patient and clinic records. Support district oral health initiatives and outreach program.
