Requirements :

  • Appropriate Qualifications that allows registration with the HPCSA in Diagnostic Radiography. Registration with the HPCSA in the Diagnostic Radiography. A minimum of 3 years appropriate experience in Diagnostic Radiography after registration with the HPCSA.

Duties :

  • To provide twenty-four (24) hour effective, efficient quality diagnostic imaging services. To work stand-by allocation. ability to lead, manage, motivate, control, develop, train, appraise and function under pressure. Ensure provision, delegation, training, mentoring, coaching, management and development of employees. Acquire knowledge, ensure adherence, implementation, compliance of all departmental policies and legislation; Hazardous Substance Act, Radiation control requirements, PFMA, Labour laws, Public Service Act and all other legislations. To ensure employees adhere to Batho Pele, Patients’ Rights, code of good practice, show empathy and patient care at all times. To supervise qualified staff and students’ radiographers. To provide continuous clinical training. Demonstrate knowledge, skills and understanding to manage the section/s. Attend departmental meetings, coordinate own sectional meetings. Advice Assistant Director/ Deputy Director on departmental matters and issues that arise; also provide solotions where possible. Ability to resolve conflict amongst employees and colleagues in general. Ability to apply corrective/ disciplinary procedures. Ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders. Administer leave of staff, draft roster allocation. Provide succession planning and draft protocols of the section. Ensure all equipment in use are licensed for use, serviced, repaired and cared for by employees and annual Quality Assurance done. Ensure staff can operate the equipment, arrange for training where necessary. Have knowledge and application of PACS. Partake in standby duties and operation disasters that may occur at any time. Ensure staff performance is optimal, continually developed and assessed. Monitor and evaluate individual staff performance and development. Show initiative and innovative skills. Good communication skills and have knowledge of basic computer literacy and display emotional intelligence. Team player. Duties are not limited to the above also included in the job description.
