Requirements :

• Senior/National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) and 5 years’ experience as a Porter, computer literacy will be an added advantage. Ability to communicate in more than one official language, passion for work, Knowledge of customer care, self-driven and motivated to work in a team, willingness to work shifts.

Duties :

• Allocate porters daily to designated workstations to ensure optimal coverage and service delivery. Monitor the completion of handover books between shifts to maintain continuity and accountability. Ensure porters are visible at front entrances to assist patients with mobility challenges and to return wheelchairs promptly to clinical sections Control and record the use of equipment (e.g., wheelchairs) on a daily control sheet. Coordinate the movement of patients between wards, theatres, and other departments, including the safe transport of corpses to the mortuary. Maintain accountability for all equipment used by the portering team. Promote a positive image of porters by ensuring courteous, respectful, and friendly interactions with patients and the public. Enforce the wearing of prescribed uniforms and identification cards at all times. Ensure visibility and optimal utilization of the golf cart service to shuttle patients. Control and monitor attendance registers to ensure punctuality and accountability. Support the improvement of health care service delivery by ensuring compliance with National Core Standards and Ideal Hospital requirements. Any other duties allocated by the Supervisor or Manager.
