Grade 12 with English, Biology and Pure Mathematics, Registration as a qualified Post Basic Pharmacist. Assist with the SAPC. Training on the basic level pharmacist assistant course. Basic communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Good calculation. Good computer skills. Basic research/data collection and analysis skills. Excellent teamwork skills. Team building, people skills, and interpersonal relations. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Experience in Pharmaceutical store management is essential. Good Communication skills (verbal and written). Highly motivated and enthusiastic to contribute to pharmacy services. The ability to work under pressure. The following will be An added advantage: 3 years’ experience as a qualified Pharmacist Assistant Post Basic and must be on a contract post in Gauteng Department of Health.
Duties :
-
The distribution, dispensing and control of stock of schedule 1 to schedule 5 medicines or schedule substances in accordance with the standard operating procedures and legislation. Assist with stock control and the distribution of finished products. To assist with the compounding, manipulation or preparation of a non-sterile medicine or scheduled substances according to a formula and standard treatment guidelines approved by the responsible pharmacist. The provision of information to individuals to promote Health. To record all transactions in accordance with the standard Operating Procedures, Legislation, and produce the required reports as instructed by the Pharmacist. Must be prepared to work on Saturdays and after hours during the week. The Pharmacist assistant must be prepared to render services after hours according to the institution's needs. The provision of extended hours is vital in a very busy institution, as patients need to be served and not leave without their medications. GPP, as published in the rules of the council, must always be adhered to. An official must be conversant with the pharmaceutical policies and regulations. Officials must take part in identified and authorised research and development projects. Assist the management team in the running of the pharmacy. Participate in ward rounds and provide pharmaceutical care to inpatients, drug monitoring and stock management. Perform duties assigned by management.
