Requirements :

  • Matric/ Grade 12 , Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in Financial Management or relevant field as recognized by SAQA. 5 years’ relevant experience in Financial Management of which 3 years must be at a Supervisory Level (Assistant Director level) in Financial Accounting. Must have a valid driver’s License. COMPETENCIES: Computer Literacy, excellent written and verbal communication skills, report writing skills. time management, management of people, Innovative, Team Player and flexible, Client Orientated, Influential and strategic, management information knowledge, policy development, financial accounting systems and procedures in line with relevant legislation, regulations, frameworks and departmental policies and procedures.

Duties :

  • Manage the financial accounting sub directorate, which includes all payment, revenue correction, petty cash management, debt management, preparing of Interim and Annual Financial statements and all reporting requirement relating to financial accounting unit, Monitor the policy and legislative framework to ensure that cognizance is taken of new developments. Develop and maintain policies and processes. Monitor revenue collected and expenditure incurred and submit reports and plans as required. Monitor compliance with financial prescripts. Provide advice and guidance to role players on revenue and expenditure procedures. Undertake revenue, expenditure management and accounting work as required. Revenue management - Ensure that cashier, banking, debt management, monitoring and reporting services are rendered. Expenditure management – Ensure that payment for compensation of employees, goods and services, transfers, subsidies and reporting are efficiently and effectively performed. Ensure payment of invoices within 15 days; Ensure proper data capturing of financial Transaction and proper management of sundry payment. Management of petty cash and suspense accounts. Manage the sub-directorate revenue, expenditure management and accounting Maintenance of discipline. Produce complete and accurate quarterly, interims and annual financial statements, including coordination of Request for Information (RFI) and communication of audit findings and liaise with Auditor General of South Africa (AGSA). Manage accurate processing of financial transactions in respect of S&T claims. Responsible for all Financial Management Report.
