Requirements :

  • Basic qualification accredited with South African Nursing Council in terms of Government Notice R425 (Degree/Diploma in Nursing. Diploma / degree in Nursing Management or Health Management as an added advantage. Current registration with South African Nursing Council. A minimum of 8 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. At least 3 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/ recognisable experience at management level. Minimum of three (3) years working experience in Clinical Forensic Medical Services. Basic understanding of PFMA and relevant legislative frameworks that govern Clinical Forensic Medical Services and related services. Good communication skills (reporting writing and presentation skills are essential). A valid driver’s licence and the ability to drive are essential. Computer literacy and sound interpersonal skills are also required.

Duties :

  • Demonstrate an in depth understanding of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices and how these impacts on service delivery particularly in relation to cases of interpersonal violence including violence against women and children. Ensure clinical nursing practice by the nursing team in accordance with the scope of practice and nursing standard for Sexual Offence Care Practitioners and Clinical Forensic Health Practice. To promote quality of nursing care as directed by the professional scope of practice and standards as determined by the relevant facility to support the justice system. To facilitate implementation, monitoring and evaluation of policies and strategies. Provide support for Clinical Forensic Medical Services at district level. To contribute to the development of Clinical Forensic Medical Services. Liaise with stakeholders such related government departments, NGOs/CSOs, tertiary institutions and research institutions. Facilitate training pertaining to Clinical Forensic Medical Services. Facilitate and/or conduct in-service training, education and awareness. Liaise with implementation stakeholders as part of a team for the comprehensive management of victims of violence including post and pre-exposure prophylaxis. Manage projects as assigned.
