Requirements :

  • Grade 12 with basic qualification accredited with SANC in terms of Government Notice R425 (i.e., diploma/ degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse Degree/ Diploma in Nursing or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse. A minimum of 7 years appropriate experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with SANC in general Nursing and 3 years as Sexual Offence Care Practitioner. Experience in managerial position, working in Clinical Forensic Medical Services. Diploma/degree in Health Services Management / Nursing Administration will be added advantage. Basic understanding of relevant legislation that governs Clinical Forensic Medicine, report writing skills, good communication skills, ability to work under pressure, good supervisory skills and interpersonal skills are essential. Registration with professional regulatory body is compulsory. A valid driver's license and computer literacy is essential.

Duties :

  • Coordination of optimal, holistic specialised nursing care provided for survivors of gender-based violence within set standards and professional/legal framework. Ensure good clinical practice for prevention of injuries and non- natural deaths to promote quality of care as directed by quality standard of care and professional bodies scope of practise. Promote stakeholders’ collaboration, Provision of effective support to CFMS facilities at subdistrict level. Coordinate, Support, monitor and evaluate program related activities including awareness campaigns, trainings and research. Relief duties of the Assistant Manager, partake in overall specialized unit functions, i.e. meetings, team building and debriefing. Maintain professional growth/ethical standards and self-development and development of staff members. Generate weekly and monthly reports.
