Requirements :

• Grade 10 or ABET level 4 or equivalent qualification. Appropriate experience in public service will be an added advantage. Must be able to read and write. Good interpersonal relations, communication skills. Must be able to work shifts.

Duties :

• Proper control and care of instruments. Practicing infection prevention and control. Wash instruments, sterilize, and pack them in packs properly according to protocol and autoclave to prevent transmission of germs from one to another. Check and re-sterilize all expired packs. Sterile packs to be available all the time. Issuing sterile stock to wards. Procedure for receiving packs from the wards to be followed. Handling and controlling linen, receive clean linen and pack in shelves. Report on shortage of theatre linen to the in-charge. Torn line to be prepared for condemning.

Candidates in possession of a foreign qualification will be required to furnish the Department with an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). HR will conduct Personnel Suitability Checks (PSC) and Verification Checks. The Department reserve the right to conduct verification beyond information provided, where necessary. Failure to submit all the relevant information mentioned above with the exception of HR verification checks, will result in the candidate being disqualify.
