Requirements :

  • Grade 12 plus National Diploma (NQF level 6) in Information Science or relevant qualifications as recognised by SAQA. 1 - 2 years relevant experience. A Valid Driver’s License. Competencies: Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook. Information desk, good communication skills, good office administration, report writing skills, good interpersonal skills, Planning and organising skills, Exposure to records management and registry management, Ability to prioritise urgent matters, Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Duties :

  • Duties: Overall management and maintenance of the Information Resource Centre (IRC), Well managed IRC and the provision of information resources and services to staff members and the public general, Creation of IRC Data and processing of books and other information related resources, Cataloguing, Classification and Indexing of publications Acquisition of reading Material and updating of the IRC collection of material, Liaise with booksellers/service providers for the latest publications in the market and circulate to senior management, Capacitate IRC in line with user satisfaction and awareness (Marketing), Visit all the Reserves and Regional Offices to assist them with coordination and management of information resources, Client Services and Customer Care services, Provide Administrative support services, lending services using an electronic library system, loaning and receiving materials, checking and sending out overdue notices. Train and assist users on electronic books (E-books).
