Requirements :

  • Grade 12 plus National Diploma (NQF Level 6)/bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in Office Administration/ Public Administration or relevant qualification as recognised by SAQA. Minimum of 1-2 years relevant experience in administration. COMPETENCIES: Computer Literacy, Good (written and verbal) communication skills. Good customer service. Knowledge of the following legislations and regulations: Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Treasury Regulations, Public Service Regulations, Public Service Act, Promotion of Administration Justice Act (PAJA), Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA) and The Constitution of the Republic of South Africa. Report writing skills, Time management skills, Organizing and Planning skills, Good Presentation and Facilitation skills, Problem Solving and Decision-Making skills.

Duties :

  • Provide support to institutional structures to develop, maintain and update the food security information systems. Collect information on the main risks and shocks involved in worsening people’s vulnerability and food security. Administer the identification of indicators that should be used in monitoring food security and vulnerability in the province. Administer the identification and liaise with potential institutions that could implement the monitoring of specific food security indicators. Liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure harmonization of food security indicators and methodologies for food insecurity and vulnerability assessment. Invite all stakeholders/ officials for the meeting and presentations. Arrange venues for meeting and presentations. Prepare correspondences/ information assisting in executing food security services’ functions. Prepare meeting packages and perform secretariat functions during the meetings and presentations. Provide secretariate services during meeting. Coordinate consultations with clients and workshops. Handle orders, receive and distribute materials to the officials in the section. Administer the day-to-day technical activities of the Food and Nutrition Security Plan coordinating committee for informed policy decisions and designs of programmes. Conduct primary data collection, analysis and interpretation for food security baseline and continuous food security assessment activities. Compile and distribute the periodic food security status reports. Provide support in the decentralization of food security activities at provincial and local level.
