MBChB degree or equivalent medical qualification that allows registration with HPCSA as an Independent Medical Practitioner. Current registration as independent medical practitioner with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). Intermediates will be an added advantage.
Duties :

The incumbent shall provide and/or comply with the following in the DGMAH & SMU Complex: Registrar will inter alia be responsible for rendering services, assessment and treatment of patients, related administration participating in all activities of the discipline in relation to teaching, participating in departmental audit activities, preparing, and writing liaison and communication services and community liaison. Registrar should rotate through related departments at various hospitals, comprising hospitals served in their specific outreach programmes. Registrars will be appointed on a joint appointment on the establishment of Dr. George Mukhari Academic Hospital (DGMAH) and Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University (SMU). Clinical Services: Surgery and clinical service delivery at DGMH. Provide optimum evidence-based health care. Provide comprehensive appropriate level patient care, including inpatient and outpatient care, interdisciplinary consultations, management of acute burns, as well as up and down referral with other health facilities; supervise, teach (Clinical and theoretical) and examine undergraduate students, medical officers, and medical interns. Outreach services: Provide outreach to level 1 and level 2 health facilities. Research and record/statistics keeping: Perform and participate in research. Academic: Participate and attend academic discussions, meetings, congresses, workshops etc. Comply with requirements of post and legislation. Work in team-based environment.
