Requirements :

• Basic R425 qualification (i.e. Diploma or Degree in Nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. Current registration with the South African Nursing Council. A minimum of four (4) years appropriate experience in Nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. A post basic qualification with a duration of at least 1 year, accredited with the SANC in oncology specialties referred to in the glossary of terms. Competencies/Knowledge/Skills: A good understanding of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices. Ability to perform clinical nursing practice in accordance with the scope of practice and nursing standards as determined by the relevant health facility. Promotes quality of nursing care as directed by the professional scope of practice and standards as determined by the relevant health facility.

Duties :

• Provides optimal, holistic, specialised nursing care with set standards and within a professional/legal framework. Effective and efficient utilisation of resources. Participates in training and research. Provides support to nursing services. Maintains professional growth/ethical standards and self-development. Acts as shift leader in the unit (where necessary). Communicates effectively with patients, health professionals and colleagues. Implements of Ideal Hospital Framework.
