Appropriate qualification (MBBCH) that allows registration with HPCSA as Medical Practitioner. HPCSA Registration as an independent medical practitioner. Must be a South African citizen or permanent resident. Must have successfully completed the Diploma in Primary Emergency Care. Must have successfully completed FCEM Part 1. Basic life support course (BLS), ACLS (Advanced cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Paediatric Advanced Life Support) Courses. Advanced trauma life support (ATLS) or EMATT or ITLS. Ultrasound training is an added advantage.
Duties :

Perform duties according to guidelines from the Department of Emergency Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences, Colleges of Medicine of South Africa. Dr George Mukhari Academic Hospital Accident and Emergency Medicine. Perform Commuted Overtime is Compulsory, Clinical training and teaching of undergraduates, emergency medical care students, medical interns , medical officers and other categories of hospital and university staff. Assisting in the assessment of undergraduate and postgraduate students. The incumbent will be responsible for evaluation and clinical management of patients. Participation in department and inter-departmental meetings, journal clubs, case presentations, lectures, and ward rounds, workshop. Ensure that administration and record keeping is done in the department. Undertaking research and case report writing for publication. Attending and presenting at academic meetings. Encourage good working relationships between colleagues and departments. Availability for ongoing assessments. Signing annual performance agreements and availability for quarterly reviews. Shift work in the Emergency Medicine Department and other departments of rotations. Evaluation and clinical management of patients referred to the Emergency Department. Ensure that administration and record keeping is done in the department. Undertaking research and publication of cases in the department.
