Requirements :

• Degree in Dietetics. Registration with Health Professions Council of South African (HPCSA) as a Dietitian plus proof of current HPCSA registration. Must be on Grade 1 level and has completed community service period as Dietitian. Sound Knowledge of clinical theory, practice and ethics relating to the delivery of Dietetics service. Services within a hospital setting and knowledge of current health and public team using patient centred, goal orientated and interdisciplinary approach. Good communication, computer and interpersonal skills.

Duties :

• Provide Dietetics services for in- and out-patients in adherence to the scope of practice and health protocols. Compile monthly statistics of activities conducted. Adherence to infection control and hygiene standards required by the departmental guidelines. Supervise and train Dietetic students. Participate on the Development and implementation of Nutritional guidelines for the unit. Attend relevant meetings. Comply with the Performance Management and Development System (PMDS). Effectively render cost effective and evidence based nutritional requirements according to norms and standards. To work closely with the interdisciplinary team members. Effective record keeping. To assist with coordinating of clinical nutrition and food service management. Adherence to ethical rules, regulations and policies.
