National Diploma or Degree in Diagnostic Radiography Qualification that allows for registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA). A minimum of 3 years’ appropriate experience after registration with the HPCSA in the relevant profession, of which 5 years must be appropriate managerial. Tertiary hospital experience post community service will be an added advantage. Knowledge of the legal compliance requirements for the safe use of hazardous substance in all spheres of Radiography and OHS Act. Knowledge of HIM policy, National Core standards, Quality Assurance Programme and strategic management. Knowledge and experience of supply chain management processes, Finance Management and Human Resources issues. organising, communication and strategic thinking. Computer literacy with ability to use all Microsoft programmes, excellent time management skills, written and verbal communication skills and report writing. Honesty, integrity and high work ethics. Good interpersonal skills. Knowledge of Public Service legislation, policies and procedures. Knowledge of current DOH guidelines and policies governing the health sector and Radiography profession. Radiation, safety regulations and quality assurance for Radiography, accreditation standards, National core standards, knowledge of specialized Radiology procedures and equipment. Communication and interaction with other departments.
Duties :

Manage the Radiography division. Manage and monitor performance and development of staff. Manage, plan, organise and supervise the provision of general and specialised Radiography procedures. Ensure that the department is able to render a 24-hour Radiography service at all times Provide operational advice and guidance to the subordinate (Professional and support). Provide leadership in the service delivery improvement projects. Provide professional advice in the issues pertaining the policies and legislations related to health. Provide input into compilation of the strategic and operational plans. Compilation of monthly statistics and stock control. Advise Senior and management staff on areas that need service delivery improvement on a continuous basis. Represent the Radiography department at various forums and meetings as per the delegation. Implement the decisions and plan taken at departmental and institutional level.
