Requirements :

Degree/National Diploma in Medical Orthotics and Prosthetics. Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). A minimum of 3 years’ appropriate experience after registration with the HPCSA in the relevant profession, of which 5 years must be appropriate managerial. Leadership and managerial skills. Sound knowledge of human resource management, training and development, labour relations, occupational health and safety and quality assurance.
Duties :
-
Overall management of all aspects of human and financial resources of the Orthotics and Prosthetics Department. Rendering of clinical services according to specified standards, protocols and ethical guidelines. Participate in all clinical audits and quality improvement programs. Participate in all relevant internal and external meetings and forums. Deal with all complaints and enquiries. Organize outreach programs to regional hospitals. To apply the latest relevant acts and/or legislature. To plan the budget in line with estimated client requirements and ensure that production capacity, consumable and non-consumable goods, equipment, and staff are available to achieve agreed output and foreseeable additional demands. To maintain and implement a human resource plan, including recruitment, selection, and appointment. To ensure effective staff utilization. To build effective teams, develop motivation and commitment, and maintain sound labour relations and morale to maximize involvement while minimizing conflict. Improve quality, create continuous improvement of NCS and Ideal Hospital.
