Requirements :

  • Matric/grade 12 certificate or equivalent. Diploma/Degree accredited with the South African Nursing Council in terms of Government Notice 425) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse and a Diploma Midwifery. Diploma/degree in Nursing Education and Management. Master’s degree in nursing will be an added advantage. Current registration with SANC. A minimum of nine (9) years appropriate recognizable nursing experience after registration as Professional Nurse with SANC. A minimum of five (5) years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognizable experience in Nursing Education after obtaining Nursing Education qualification. Experience in student administration processes in line with SANC prescripts. Knowledge and experience of academic requirements, relevant Acts and Legislation, Code of Ethics and Professional Practice of South African Nursing Council. Knowledge of procedures and processes related to examinations and management of data/records. Skills: Computer literacy in Microsoft Office. Problem solving and conflict management skills. Good communication and supervisory skills. Good report writing skills and the ability to work in a team and under pressure. A valid driver’s license with a minimum code B.

Duties :

  • Participate in development of the master education and student placement plan of the campus. Management of procedures and processes to ensure safety and security of examinations. Administration of a student and academic information system. Develop and ensure implementation of quality assurance programmes. Deliver an administrative service to academic staff and students regarding academic matters. Serve as chairperson/member on applicable academic/management committees in the campus/college, prepare and deliver reports as required. Practise the code of conduct. Participate in the management of the College. Participate in the management of the campus. Collaborate with stakeholders and build a sound relationship within the department. Supervise staff. Initiate and/or participate in nursing research. Participate in continuing professional development in Nursing Education and own field of practice. Support the vision and mission of the campus and college.
