Podiatry Qualification, Registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa as a Podiatrist. 3 years’ experience. Valid driver’s license. Community based rehabilitation experience. Applicant should be prepared to undergo a technical assessment. Supervisory experience will be an added advantage.
Duties :
-
To manage, Plan, coordinate and implement podiatry service in the district focusing on the community-based rehabilitation strategy. Plan, coordinate and implement prevention and promotion campaigns for podiatry Supervise junior staff and community service therapists including performance appraisal. Represent the district at the Exco meetings of podiatry. Coordinate monthly podiatry meeting and CPD activities. Prepare and present quarterly reports at the provincial forums. Coordinate the procurement of consumables and Assistive devices for podiatry. Conduct Supervisory visits to all clinics. Management of the sub district allocated to the post including supervisory visits and performance management of staff. Contribute to the district therapeutic planning, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation processes. Monitor the proper utilization of resources and equipment. Attend relevant meetings and assume relevant responsibilities of Head of Department on delegation. Implementation and monitoring of Quality assurance in the district. Knowledge and Competencies – Communication Skills, report writing skills, decision making skills, organizational skills, expert clinical physiotherapy skills, research skills, analytical skills, presentation skills, human resource, and financial management skills. Computer literacy including use of Microsoft office. Added advantages. Ability to work in a multi-Disciplinary team. Requires a good understanding of public health system. Effective interpersonal skills, strategic planning skills and leadership qualities.
