Requirements :

  • Grade 12 certificate. Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the health professions Council of South Africa (MMed/ FC Rad (D)) as a specialist in Diagnostic Radiology and Imaging. Registration certificate with the Health Professions Council of South AFRICA (HPCSA) as a Medical Specialist. Current registration with the HPCSA as an Independent Medical Specialist. Possess good leadership skills, excellent communication (verbal and written) skills, conflict resolution and good interpersonal skills. Good resource management, problem solving and decision-making skills. The successful candidate must be disciplined, self-confident and dedicated to teaching students in radiology and deliver quality radiology service to patients. The candidate must be able to work independently and under pressure and beyond normal working hours, and be able to work with a diverse team.

Duties :

  • We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic candidates to join our dynamic team to deliver the service and to support an active training programme at DGMAH. Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate experience in general diagnostic radiology and imaging including MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Mammography, Conventional X-ray reporting, intervention, PET reporting. The successful candidate should be capable of providing direct clinical leadership in the different units within the department. Give support to the head of department (HOD), head of units (HOU), and other specialists. The successful candidate will be expected to oversee training and supervision of junior registrars, teach and present at multidisciplinary meetings on a rotational basis. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate professional excellence and the ability to deliver effective care. They will need to agree levels of activity and throughput with the Clinical head of department for performance evaluations. These activity levels will be aligned to the capacity and demand of the department. The candidate should be able to conduct own research and supervise students’ research.
